The Bachelor of Civil Engineering aims to train students to become generalist engineers with a solid grounding in basic sciences and a broad view of civil engineering. Students will develop the knowledge and skills needed to design, manage and direct a wide range of projects, including construction of roads, motorways, canals, bridges, ports, airports, dams, tunnels, service stations, outfalls, sewers, wastewater treatment plants, car parks, industrial buildings, building structures, and water collection and supply systems; and canalization, rail infrastructure, logistics systems, and economic and land-use planning.

The program teaches students to make engineering and design decisions while considering a broad range of factors such as sustainability, aesthetic values, and environmental, economic, legal and technical limitations. The students are trained to, e.g., apply their engineering knowledge and problem-solving skills in a professional environment, analyze and design civil infrastructure systems, work as members or leaders of multidisciplinary teams, continue their education through graduate studies or ongoing professional development hours, understand and communicate technical, social, environmental and ethical issues to society at large, be aware of contemporary issues and engage in life-long learning.

The Master of Civil Engineering is offered for civil engineering and related graduates wishing to enter the profession and who choose to study a general Masters-level course rather than specializing in a particular subject area. The course allows students to tailor their studies to meet the needs of their chosen career path by offering a wide range of modules which can be selected, together with a wide choice of individual research projects.

The main objective of this programme is to equip the student with the extensive background required for present day professional civil engineering practice in industry. The course is intended to provide the student with more depth and breadth in chosen fields of Civil Engineering and related subjects than is possible within the Bachelor's Degree program. The main contents are design, construction, management and operation oriented to enable a graduate of the program to cope with and solve current and future Civil Engineering problems.
